We walked down to Place de la Concorde and there was this giant ferris wheel. It reminded me of the ferris wheel at Navy Pier. The things you sit in were enclosed and were really big so you could fit your family or group in it. It was so pretty. It was all lit up and looked down the
Champs-Eylsees. The view from the top must have been amazing. We really wanted to go on it but it was 10 euros a ticket and I only had 5, so we're going to go back and go on it before the season is over. We then walked up the other side of the Champs-Elysees. There were little vendors selling food, and gifts....cute stuff like that. The food they were selling smelled so good. There was this one stand where they were selling ham, like a huge ham. It was sweet. There was also this one stall where it was 2 Euro to go in and I guess it was a Nativity scene. There was this giant ox/bull thing outside of it. Everyone was crowding around it. It's like they've never been to a fair or something. We walked up to the Arc de Triomphe and hung out there for a little while. After that we walked back down the other side of the Champs-Elysees. The lights in the trees were so pretty. They are LED lights that I guess cut back on the electricity they are using to power them. So, way to be green Paris....props. There were a lot of people walking up and down the Champ
s. Even though there were so many people and they were walking really slow, everyone just seemed to be in a really good mood, which was nice. Overall, I really enjoyed the night. It was amazing and I'm so glad we went. I can't wait to go back and ride on the ferris wheel.
Yesterday Renee and I were supposed to go to see a movie but when she came back from shopping she said that she had a really bad headache and didn't want to go anymore. Oh, she bought a 32 inch flat screen tv. I walked into the living room and saw it in the box and was like OH. MY. GOD. this would be so awesome to watch football and hockey on!!! But then I was like oh yeah, they like soccer here...ugh! She gave me her discount card to use for the movies. I asked a few people if they wanted to go see New Moon again but they were busy. So I watched a movie instead. I really didn't want to go to the movies by myself...that's kinda lame. Tonight we're having group dinner at this Mexican restaurant. I really hope it's good because I've been craving some Chipolte. But, it is Mexican food in Paris so I'm really not expecting it to be amazing. We shall see. Friday is Nocturnes de Louvre so I'll be getting ready for that all week...should be fun
A bientot
