Joyeux Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!!! I hope you day is full of good food and spending time with your family and friends. Today I was a little sad because I really do love Thanksgiving and spending time with my family. When I woke up this morning it didn't even feel like Thanksgiving. Last year, and every year at Thanksgiving, I'm so excited when I wake up because I watch the parade, my dad makes breakfast, and the I help my mom with the cooking. Today, I woke up and it was just another day in Paris. It was really weird getting on the metro and people were just like well, one more day until Friday.

The pumpkin pie at the dorm was actually really good. I asked Dr. Costello if he made it himself and he laughed and said no. He bought it from this store that is run by an American in Paris and he sells a bunch of Thanksgiving things. He said that it is a very expensive store because everything is imported. He didn't tell us how much the pies were, but I can just imagine how expensive they were. He had pumpkin and pecan. I'm not a pecan fan so I stuck to pumpkin. It wasn't like my mom's pumpkin pie, but it was pretty good. It was just nice having a little piece of Thanksgiving in Paris and it brightened my day a little bit.

School was school so I won't even bother talking about it. Except, I did get my test back and I get a 14.75/20. Renee said that it's an average grade so I'm pretty happy with that. When I got back to the apartment, the man who works in the office stopped be and handed me a huge box from my parents. I thanked him and ran upstairs to open it. My parents sent TONS of food. I got rice, mac n cheese, the fancy mac n cheese with velveeta, cookies, my favorite trail mix, oatmeal, rice-a-roni, some pasta things, dried cranberries, a new memory card for my camera, a movie, nutty bars, and a new hat that my mom made me. Plus there were pictures in there that Maddie made me. The box made me really happy.

I called home and talked to my dad, and Nick, who flew in from Vermont for Thanksgiving, and Steve. My dad and Nick were drinking beer and making breakfast....typical. I asked Steve if he was having a beer and he said of course....he's 12. I then called my mom who's at my aunts house helping her get ready for today. I talked to everyone there. It was nice to get to talk to everyone, but I just got really sad because I'd like nothing more than to be sitting at the table with my family enjoying Thanksgiving.

Again, happy Thanksgiving to everyone! Have some turkey and pie for me!!!!

A bientot
