Blah....ugh it's raining :( barf. and it's cold. Here comes winter I guess. Although tomorrow it's supposed to be 74 but rain.
So last night Renee came back from work and I was eating my dinner. She came into the living room and hands me a bag and then takes this cell phone out of this box. And she goes, here...this is for you. I was like ummmmm what?!?!?! I had no idea why she bought me a cell phone when I already have a cell phone. She said she had to take Norton out but when she comes back she'd tell me. So I just sat there staring at it. It's not like it's some fancy cell phone...it's really basic. You have to flip open the cover in order to see the time. While she was gone a looked at her bill...I had to know how much it was. It's a pre-paid phone that you load with minutes. There are 10 minutes on there and it was 39 euros total...so it's not like she spent a fortune on this phone. Renee got back and she said that because she's going away on vacation, if she needed to get a hold of me or if I needed to get a hold of her I could use this phone instead of using my iPhone which would be considered a long distance call for her or me. So it was really thoughtful of her. I probably won't use it much so I really don't want to load it up with minutes that I won't use. I mean I did get an iPhone and it works here and I bought an international calling plan so I don't want to waste that either.
So today just really sucked. I couldn't sleep for some reason. I swear I woke up every hour to see what time it was. I think I'm paranoid that one night I'll forget to set my alarm and I won't wake up for class or something. Anyways, Renee left for her vacation today and she was really loud this morning. Norton wouldn't stop whining for some reason. She left and then I got up and ate breakfast and got ready for my meeting. It was raining this morning so I grabbed my umbrella and wore my jacket because it was kinda chilly this morning. And of course, when I step outside it starts pouring. It's not like my metro stop is right out the door, I have to walk a ways to get to it. So my purse is soaked, my jeans are all wet and I was just not in a good mood at all. It was muggy in the metro so of course my hair starts frizzing out. When I got to the dorm where we were having our meeting I noticed that my umbrella was broken. I guess that's what I get for getting it at Wal-Mart and getting the cheapest one they had. I'm going to try to fix it but if I can't I guess I'll have to buy a new on.
The meeting was pretty boring. It was about the final step in validating my visa. We talked about opening French bank accounts and I guess everyone has opened one, or is in the process of opening one...I really don't want to open one. I got a Bank of America account so I could use my card here. I understand that I'm going to be charged a fee for the transaction but whatever, I knew that. And I really don't have the extra money to open up the account and I really don't want to have to transfer more money into it. So I'm not going to open one. I hope that this doesn't come back to bite me in the butt...that would suck. I stopped to get a sandwich after the meeting for lunch because I didn't have the time to go back to the apartment. I walked through the Luxembourg garden in the rain and almost got lost getting from the garden to the school but luckily I had my little map that I bought and I found the school.
School was SO BORING today. Ugh....I wanted to die. It was all about Medieval things and I really could care less about that stuff. Then we watched this weird video that was in French so I just came up with my own commentary. It reminded me of that episode of LOST when they find The Others....it was so funny. This nomadic tribe finds this other tribe and they break into their camp. There wasn't a Sawyer though so it wasn't that great. Our teacher also gave us a crap load of homework to do.....how nice of her. I have to read 2 packets and write 2 reactions...ugh. I don't want to do it.
I guess that's it for now. I'm in a bitter mood and really don't feel like writing any more about this lame, rainy, crappy day.
so until later,
A bientot
